Born on March 26, 1956, in Bradford, Arkansas, Willie’s journey through life was marked by a profound love for the outdoors, an avid appreciation for collecting coins, and the tranquility found in the mountains and cold creeks he so fondly explored.

Willie was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures. Whether riding his side-by-side through rugged trails, quietly listening to the symphony of wildlife and birdsong with a coffee in hand, or immersing himself in books via the blind book reader, his spirit was attuned to the beauty of the world around him. His connection to the natural world was inspiring, and his passion for fishing brought him countless moments of peace and reflection.

Above all, Willie’s heart belonged to his family. He adored his grandson, Gavin Mitchell, with all his heart, and his love extended generously to his fiance, Linda Mitchell; his son, James Ray; and his siblings, Rickey Allen, Wilma Merrell, and Debbie Eden. He was also fondly surrounded by many nieces and nephews who will carry forth his memory. Willie’s affection for his dogs highlighted his gentle nature and the warmth he shared with those close to him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Beatrice Melton and Willie Allen, and his brothers Danny Allen, Jimmy Allen, and Phillip Allen, whose memories Willie held dear throughout his life.
