William Mike King, age 76, of Franklin, TN went to be with his Lord on June 20, 2024. He was born April 1, 1948 in New Edinburg, Arkansas to the late Hilton and Cora King. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, John, Cecil and Ray King. Mr. King was a graduate of New Edinburg High School, and later graduated from UAM (Arkansas Agricultural and Mechanical College) with a degree in accounting. He worked in public accounting as a CPA for 32 years. He was a partner with Baird, Kurtz, & Dobson, which is now FORVIS. He specialized in auditing and taxes. He focused on governmental auditing and was involved in establishing the Rural Health Centers in Arkansas. He was a member of ARCPA, Optimist Club, and UAM Knights Service Organization. He also taught Sunday School and served on numerous church committees for Franklin FUMC, Russellville UMC and Wesley UMC. Mr. King was an avid baseball fan who loved coaching youth baseball. He cheered for the St. Louis Cardinals, and everything Arkansas Razorbacks.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Laura Lea Thomasson King, his son, Colt McClain, daughters, Christie King, and Ronda Smith, one brother, Jimmy King, grandchildren, Max McClain, Sammy McClain and Ethan Smith.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Pansy Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pansy Cemetery and sent to 16160 Hwy 36 S. Rison, AR. 71665.
