William Keith Kimbrell

August 26, 1956 — May 30, 2025

Sheridan

William Keith Kimbrell, age 68, of Sheridan, passed away Friday afternoon, May 30, 2025 in Pine Bluff, AR. Keith was born August 26, 1956, in Warren, Arkansas, to the late Grady and Janice Kimbrell. Keith was a 1974 graduate of Watson Chapel High School. He attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello on a baseball scholarship. An outstanding baseball player, Keith played from Little League through American Legion baseball. Pitching was his preferred position, but he excelled in other positions as well. In 1972, Pine Bluff hosted the Babe Ruth World Series at Taylor Field. Keith had the honor to be a part of the Pine Bluff Babe Ruth host team. Keith worked several different occupations and lived from Georgia to California prior to settling back in Arkansas and following in his father’s footsteps as a barber. He worked beside Grady at the Jefferson Square Barber Shop for several years before opening his own shop. Keith was still cutting hair at Keith’s Barber Shop in Sheridan until early April of this year. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, days at the lake or river, and any event that involved a bon fire and music. Keith was quite the celebrity when he made the trip to Little River County to enjoy Squirrel Camp and fellowship with his Southwest Arkansas friends. Keith hung up his baseball cap many years ago, but he later replaced it with a Fedora. It was easy to spot Keith in a crowd. There are not many year-round Fedora wearing guys in Arkansas! He enjoyed life and laughter with his family and friends. Although we couldn’t imagine this, Keith’s loud boisterous laugh along with his constant clapping of his hands will be missed. He was always happy to receive a visitor and have a chance to reminisce. Keith’s ability to quote song titles, artists, and release years for his favorite music was amazing! He was faster than Google to return this information when asked! He considered himself an excellent harmonica player, although that was debatable by many that knew him.

Keith is survived by two brothers, Mark aka Luke Kimbrell of Rison and Rocky Kimbrell (Lisa) of Grapevine, and one sister, Traci Kimbrell Easter (Greg) of Pine Bluff. Keith was blessed with many special uncles, aunts, and cousins, in addition to his nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces.
