Wanda J. Deakins

Wanda J. Deakins, age 66 of Mayflower, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Conway Regional Hospital. She was born October 2, 1941, in the Herbine Community near Rison, a daughter of the late Daniel Fitzhugh and Mabel Sandine Herring. Mrs. Deakins was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Monte Deakins, who died on July 16, 2008; two brothers, Glen Herring and David Herring.

Mrs. Deakins is survived by one son, David Givens of Mayflower; two sisters, Doris Austin and Ruby Willis, both of the Pleasant Ridge Community near Rison; one grandson, Michael Givens of Waldo.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday August 22, 2008, at Prosperity Cemetery with Brother Don Herring officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Buie Funeral Home in Rison (870) 325-6216.
