Virginia Brewer, born on July 7, 1938, gracefully departed from this world on February 6, 2026, in Pine Bluff, leaving behind a legacy woven with love and devotion to her family. Her time on earth was filled with countless cherished moments, as she exemplified the virtues of care and compassion in both her personal and professional life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Dennis Smith and Ocie Ola Johnson, her husband Theodore Roosevelt Brewer whom she married May 3, 1971, her infant son Joey Lynn Smith,. her brothers, Chester D. Smith and Floice Smith, and her sister Gladys Johnson.
A dedicated professional, Virginia served as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Greenhouse Cottages in Rison, Arkansas, where her nurturing spirit shone brightly. Additionally, she brought organizational prowess to her role as a medical records clerk, ensuring that the intricacies of care for those she served were meticulously maintained. Her commitment to the well-being of others was a reflection of her generous heart, one that extended beyond the walls of her workplace.
Virginia found joy in the simplest of pleasures—spending treasured time with her children and grandchildren, creating a tapestry of fond memories that will forever resonate through her family. Her zest for life was marked by her love of dancing, cooking, and an undeniable passion for shopping. A true people person, she thrived on connections, fostering relationships that brought warmth and laughter into her life and the lives of others.
She is survived by her loving children Teresa Barnett and her husband Michael of Rison, Sheila Smith-Whittington of Conway, Tony Smith and his wife Karen of Rison, and Albert Lynn Smith of Conway, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Johnson, Travis Bell, Lawrence Brandon, Charles Brandon, Melvin Griddine and Otis Wainwright.
As we gather to celebrate her remarkable life, Virginia’s farewell will take place at the First Baptist Church, located at 302 Mockingbird Lane in Rison, Arkansas. Visitation will occur on February 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a heartfelt funeral service, which will commence at 11:00 AM and conclude at noon.
In reflecting upon her proudest accomplishments, it is her family that stands at the forefront—a testament to the love and dedication she poured into nurturing those around her. Virginia Brewer leaves a void that cannot be filled, yet her spirit will forever dance among those she cherished and loved dearly.
