Susan “Denise” Sims, 72, of Sheridan, Arkansas, was called home by the Lord on June 30, 2026.Denise was born on March 21, 1954, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Billie Faye and A.J. “Bud” Dupuy. She dedicated her life to caring for others, graduating from Schumpert Nursing School in Louisiana before beginning a long and compassionate career in nursing. She retired from Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, where she faithfully served her patients and colleagues for many years.Above all else, Denise cherished her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched countless lives. Her caring spirit extended far beyond her profession, and she will be remembered for her generous heart, gentle nature, and steadfast faith.She was preceded in death by her parents, Billie Faye and A.J. “Bud” Dupuy, and her sister, Michelle Dupuy.Denise is survived by her brother, Jay Dupuy of Haughton, Louisiana; her children, Ryan Sims of Sheridan, Arkansas; Hunter Sims (Melissa) of Sheridan, Arkansas; Chip Sims (Heather) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Katherine Taylor (Jeff) of Little Rock, Arkansas. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Landon, Hannah, Grady, Judson, Austin, Micah, and Elijah, as well as seven cherished great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in knowing that Denise is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her legacy of compassion, faith, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the lives of those she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
