Sandra Ann Young

Sandra Ann Young of Woodlawn, Arkansas, age 71, went to be with her Lord on July 8, 2025. She was born on September 2, 1953 in Warren, Arkansas to Eugene and Anleen Jacks Vinson. She is pre-deceased by her parents and a brother, Sam Vinson. She was a member of Prosperity United Methodist Church.

Sandra was a graduate of Woodlawn High School class of 1971, as well as a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Monticello class of 1974 where she majored in nursing. Sandra faithfully served her community as a registered nurse for 51 years.

She loved sports, especially basketball and softball. She was a proud supporter of all things Woodlawn Bears, WHS sports will not be the same without her. She loved vacationing to her happy place in Branson, Missouri any time she could. She also loved spending time with her two best friends, Patti Wilson and Teressa Taylor aka “The Golden Girls.”

Sandra is survived by daughters, Melanie Fitzgibbon and Amber Holland; granddaughters Madison and Anna Fitzgibbon, Grace and Addison Holland; grandson Jackson Fitzgibbon. She is also survived by a brother, Scotty Vinson and wife Irene and a sister-in-law, Linda Vinson all of Woodlawn.

Services will be held at Buie Funeral Home Chapel, 302 Main Street, Rison, Arkansas 71665. A visitation will begin at 10 AM, Saturday, July 12, 2025 with service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Pansy Cemetery. Bruce Brown and Billy Britt will be leading the services.

Pallbearers will be Brady Vinson, Daniel Vinson, Brad Young, Mike Stewart, Tommy Castleberry, and Garrett Cowart.

Sandra’s family wishes to thank family and friends who have shown their tremendous love and support for Sandra Ann during this time.
