Sammy Warren Osburn

August 10, 1949 — February 3, 2026

Conway, AR

Sammy Warren Osburn, age 76, completed his earthly journey and saw the face of Jesus on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026 in his home in Conway, Arkansas, surrounded by those he loved the most.

Sammy was born on August 10, 1949 in Little Rock, Arkansas as the first born to SW Osburn and Maybel (Stocks) Osburn. He grew up in North Little Rock, Arkansas and graduated from Ole Main High School in 1967. He had a career in the telephone industry, first with Southwestern Bell (retiring in 2000), then creating Maubelle Business Phones. He loved meeting with clients who quickly became friends.

He married the love of his life right after high school, Rita Ann Morrow, in September 1968. After a brief time living in Louisville, KY and then Forrest City, AR, they lived and raised their family in Central Arkansas. He was a faithful member of several churches over his life, including New Life Church since it began in 2001.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and two little brothers who died in childhood.

Sammy is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, his three children, Leslie (Darrell), Tara and Adam; 6 grandchildren, Hayley (Chris), Megan, Nicholas, Spencer, Hunter and Paxson; and 5 great grandchildren, Juliet, Faye, Oliver, Naomi and Desi. He adored his family and always got so much joy from playing with the babies.

He is also survived by his little brother Ron (Susie), their children Jennifer (Cory) and Scott; and their children, Tucker, Avery and Parker; plus many beloved first cousins, aunts, nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

His calm demeanor and impeccable dry sense of humor made everyone love being around him. He didn’t complain about anything, never had an explosive outburst, and always did what he said he would do, no matter what. He was full of wisdom about so many matters and loved to learn new things.

He loved being with his family more than anything, and also loved going to church and seeing his dear friends there. He loved all forms of art, painting (especially watercolor), being outside, all animals/wildlife/reptiles, going to Branson, listening to the Gaithers, and “driving miss daisy” (driving his wife around for her errands and sitting patiently in the car).

A celebration of his life will be Saturday, February 21, 2026 at New Life Church (GLR campus) 8000 Crystal Hill Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, the service will start at 11:00 am. Two foundations that are very close to his heart are Tunnels to Towers (t2t.org) and DWYERFIRE (www.dwyerfiregoldstarfoundation.org) and he joyfully donated to those regularly.
