Ronnie Dale Word

Ronnie Dale Word, age 68 of Rison AR, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025. He was born November 12, 1956 in Rison, a son of Herman H. Word and Irene McRae Word. Ronnie was a graduate of Rison High School and a member of Rison Baptist Church. He was a long-time employee of Moore’s Hardware (later Gurnsey’s Hardware) in Rison. He loved nothing more than fishing on the Saline River with his best friend Freddie Terry. 

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, as well as a brother-in-law, Bobby Terry, and nephew Jason Rogers.

 He is survived by daughter Wendy Hill and husband Joshua of White Hall, son Luke Word of Rison. He is also survived by sisters, Nora Terry, Brenda Morgan and husband Randy, Ann Clement and husband Ray, all of Rison. Granddaughters are Spencer “Lexy” Blevins of Springdale AR and Ally Edwards of Fayetteville AR, and especially his beloved dog “Winston”. 

Ronnie has requested that memorials may be sent to Paws for a Cause, P O Box 123, Rison, AR 71665. 

A memorial visitation will be held at Buie Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Rison, AR 71665 Tuesday, May 27th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
