Roberta May (Bobbie) Adair Brewer of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died March 24 at the age of 85.
Bobbie was born February 16, 1938, in Little Rock, and always thought of herself as a city girl. At 16, she met the love of her life, a country boy named Rommie Lee (Pete) Brewer, and married him in 1955. They were married for 62 years, until his death in 2017.
For many years, Bobbie was a stay-at-home mom of two sons in Pete’s hometown of Sheridan. During the 1970s and ’80s, she worked for Avon, first as an Avon lady in Sheridan and later as a district manager in Pine Bluff. She was well-loved by the women she supervised. She and Pete spent their retirement years in Sheridan before moving to Hot Springs for nursing home care.
Bobbie had big brown eyes, a peachy complexion and a sparkling personality. Laughter came easily to her, and she enjoyed sharing funny stories with her family and friends. She was an avid reader and she and Pete were loyal Razorback fans. She liked to collect jewelry, snow globes and Avon figurines. She was very proud of her sons and grandsons.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Louise Adair, and her husband, Pete. She is survived by her sons, Steve Brewer (and wife Kelly) of Albuquerque, NM, and David Brewer (and wife Jan) of Hot Springs; grandsons Max Brewer and Seth Brewer, both of Albuquerque; sisters Jerry Kemp of Little Rock and Julia Hale of Hot Springs, and their extended families.
