Robert Steven "Steve" Yingling, age 71, of Judsonia, passed away peacefully at his home December 28, 2023. Steve was born February 15, 1952, in Little Rock, AR to James Worley "JW" Yingling and Dorothy Mae Leggett Yingling. He graduated from White County Central High School in 1970. He married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Kay Britton, his wife of 52 years, and they were blessed with two sons.
He worked the pipeline, then as a mason, and later entered the auto body industry. He was very talented in auto body mechanics and rebuilt many vehicles that had been involved in collisions. His skill and attention to detail made them look like new again.
Steve was an avid hunter of raccoon, turkey, and deer, and he loved to fish. He made many friends at his deer camp in Hamburg, AR. Steve and Sharon also enjoyed numerous hunting seasons together near their home.
When both sons were grown and serving in the US Military, Steve and Sharon had season passes to Silver Dollar City and spent many happy weekends in Branson, MO. They also enjoyed driving their camper to beautiful Greers Ferry Lake and fishing. Their favorite trip together was to the Hawaiian Islands in 2007.
Steve loved dogs and had many that were very special to him, especially Spike and Holly. He spent several years raising coon dogs, for one of which, named Chief, he received the Night Champion Coon Dog Award. He enjoyed spending time outside, preparing the ground with his tractor, growing and harvesting a garden every summer, and riding on the side by side with Sharon and their dogs.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brothers David (Venice) Yingling of Steprock and Stan (Benita) Yingling of Judsonia; and sons Steven (Jennifer) Yingling of Judsonia and William Roger (Marisa) Yingling of Little Rock; 5 grandchildren Monica and Jarret Yingling of Judsonia, and Eli, Liam, and Olivia Yingling of Little Rock; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
