Mary Virginia McCann

Mary Virginia McCann, 75, of Searcy, Arkansas, passed away on October 7, 2026, in Searcy. She was born on January 4, 1951, in Alabama.

Mary will be remembered as a woman who found joy in the simple and meaningful things of life. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, and she had a special love for flowers and gardening. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she loved going to church and singing there. Above all, she treasured time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who held a very special place in her heart.

She is survived by her husband, David McCann. She also leaves behind her brothers, Billy West and Ricky West, and her sister, Patricia Mahan. Mary’s memory will be cherished by her children and their spouses: Jessie Taylor and his wife, Jackie; David McCann Jr. and his wife, Tammy; Steven McCann and his wife, Saprena; Randall McCann and his wife, Melissa; and Becky Waldorf and her husband, Jeff. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She leaves a family who will continue to carry her love, her example, and the many memories they shared together.

She was preceded in death by her father, Homer West; her mother, Maggie Parker West; her brothers, Wayne West, Jim West, and Jacky West; and her sisters, Michelle West, Betty Ann Brooks, and Shirley Calhoun.

Visitation will be held on October 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Pentecostal Church of God at 239 Walker Rd, Higginson, Arkansas 72068. Funeral services will follow on October 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the same location. Interment will follow at Cheek Lake Cemetery.

Mary Virginia McCann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warmth, faith, and devotion to her family will remain a lasting blessing in the lives of those she leaves behind.
