Mary Nell Keith Jacobs entered the gates of Heaven on September 1, 2026. There to greet her were her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her husband, and her son. Nell, as she went by, was 82. She was born on December 27, 1943, in Rison, Arkansas, the daughter of Walter and Gracie Puckett Keith. She was a graduate of Rison High School, class of 1961. She married Alvin Lee Jacobs on June 30, 1961, in Rison. Unto this marriage two children were born, Paul and Sharon. Nell served as the secretary at Rison Elementary School for 35 years until her retirement in 2017. She was a faithful member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where she served as church secretary and was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to cook, can, and work in the garden and was a huge Luke Bryan fan. She was a hard worker. But most of all, she loved her family. She was famous for her sweet tea and glazed lemon pound cake, which you could find at almost every family gathering and church function.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Lee; son, Paul; brothers Marvin, Clarence, and Russell Lee Keith; and sisters Zelphia Mae McClellan and Aileen Coins.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Mike) Martin of Rogers, Arkansas, her daughter-in-law Jamie (Mitch) Eggburn of Sheridan, Arkansas; grandchildren Haley (Evan) Patrick of Monticello, Arkansas, Will (Shyann) Jacobs of Horatio, Arkansas, Alee (Jonah) Lanier of Conway, Arkansas, and Hannah (Eli) Fulfer of Rogers, Arkansas; great-grandchildren Hattie, Abigail, and Ivy Patrick, Jon Paul, Levi, Kayce, and Lynlee Nell Jacobs, Tucker and Adaline Lanier, and Hudson Fulfer; sister Laurene Ray of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends who loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Buie and Cole Funeral Home in Rison with Bro. Johnie Brewster, Bro. Jackie Richardson, and Bro. Sluggo Norris officiating with visitation at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Graveside service will follow at Macedonia Cemetery. Pallbearers are Will Jacobs, Evan Patrick, Jonah Lanier, Eli Fulfer, Nathan Jacobs, Joe Herrington, Javi Holst, Jimmy Herrington, and Charles Puckett.
