Mamie Bell Wortman

Mamie Bell Wortman, a cherished homemaker and beloved member of her community, passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on December 8, 1939, she graced this world with her warmth and kindness, embodying the spirit of a faithful Christian throughout her life.

Mamie was a woman who never met a stranger; her ability to strike up a conversation with anyone she encountered endeared her to everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She had a knack for making friends and was known for her genuine interest in the lives of others, creating lasting bonds with those around her. Her passion for card games also brought joy to many, as she would often gather friends and family for lively gatherings filled with laughter and friendly competition.

She is survived by her loving children: Cindy (Danny) Oden of Rison, AR, Donna (David) Burns of Austin, AR, Doug (Donna) Wortman of Hidgen, AR, and Carlton (Carrie) Wortman of Cabot, AR; sister, Peggy Cash of Rison, AR, and sister in law, Joyce Price of Rison, AR. Mamie's legacy continues through a host of ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, Herald and Virgie Price, and three sons, Bobby Price, Truman Price, and Douglas Price. Their memory remains cherished among those who loved them.

A graveside service in honor of Mamie Bell Wortman will be held on December 27, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM at Wilson Cemetery located on Hwy 35 N, Rison, AR, with the service concluding at 2:00 PM. The family invites all who knew Mamie to join them in celebrating her life and sharing fond memories of a truly remarkable woman. Her kindness, laughter, and spirit will be dearly missed.
