Katherine Louise Ratliff, of Rison, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord on July 4, 2025. She was born on June 2, 1944, Louise devoted her life both to her faith and to nurturing those around her. As a faithful member of the Assembly of God, her walk with Christ was evident in all she did, a shining example of grace and devotion to her family and community.
Louise was blessed with a short but remarkable career as a nurse, where she tenderly cared for many individuals, embodying the compassion and kindness that made her such a cherished member of her community. Her life in service to others extended beyond her profession, as she was known for her loving spirit, unwavering faith, and the warmth she exuded to all who crossed her path.
Her heart was full of love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. She embraced them with open arms and a heart filled with boundless affection, creating treasured memories that will live on in their hearts forever.
Louise enjoyed the simple pleasures of life — from collecting antiques that each held a story of its own, to tending to her garden, a testament to her nurturing spirit. Her love for reading, particularly her Bible, fortified her faith and enriched her soul, guiding her through life’s challenges and blessings alike. She lovingly instilled in her children the Christian faith, passing down not only her unwavering love for God but also the quiet strength, grace, and hope that came from walking closely with Him.
Louise now joins her beloved family members who have preceded her in passing. She is reunited with her father, Grady Andrew Reed, her mother, Flora Marie Gardner Reed, and her dear sister, Mary Frances Hurst. Though they are separated by the veil of death, the bonds of love and faith remain unbroken, charting a path for those she leaves behind.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 64 years, Steve Ratliff, who was faithful and steadfast in every way as they built a beautiful life together. She also leaves behind her children, Mike Ratliff and Faylene, Kim Taylor and her husband Randy, Mark Ratliff and his wife Lori, her grandchildren, Byron Taylor (Jenn), Brooks Taylor (Anne), Kennedy Tollison (Cole), and Macy Ratliff (John), her great-grandchildren, Chase Taylor, Connor Taylor, and Sloane Taylor, and her sister Nancy Ann Dixon (Benny).
