Laverne Cook Pitts

Laverne Cook Pitts, age 76, of White Hall passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008 at her home. She was born February 9, 1932 in Star City, a daughter of the late William H. and Jewell Truhett Cook. Mrs. Pitts was a homemaker and a member of Dollarway Baptist Church where she enjoyed playing the piano. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lawanda Hobson; brother, Carroll Cook.

She is survived by her husband, John Pitts of White Hall; two sons and daughters in law, John Jr. and Shirley Pitts of Potosi, Missouri, Phillip and Cindy Pitts of White Hall; one daughter and son in law, Donna and Robert Aud of Sheridan; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Brown Cemetery in Faith Community near Pine Bluff with Brother Ed Harrison officiating.
