Searcy

Larry Edward Johnson was born on March 9, 1947, at Hickory Flat Arkansas, the son of Daniel Newton Johnson and Opal Beatrice (Ward) Johnson. He married Judy Ann Sharp Johnson on July 12, 1968. He volunteered and served his time in the Army during the Vietnam war years. He was a veteran, a builder, and the steady foundation of our family.

Larry worked with quiet strength and unwavering dedication to his family, day in and day out, never asking for recognition, always showing up for those he loved. He learned his hard work ethic early from his parents, as part of a large family. He equally loved to have fun and play pranks as a young man. He was hard-working as a brick mason, and later a home builder, to provide for his family. Aways available to help another in need, He enjoyed golfing and was an avid antique collector with his wife Judy. He was Poppy to his grandchildren, and he loved teaching them about nature and anything outdoors.

Larry departed this life peacefully on Wednesday morning, July 9, 2025, at his home in Searcy, Arkansas. Survivors include: one son, Mitchell Johnson; two daughters, Shelley Dietz(Patrick); Lara Johnson; Seven grandchildren, Erica McConnell (Jeffrey), Patrick Jared Dietz, Josephine Stafford, Max Stafford, Ivan Johnson Choate, Laken Beebe, Alexandria Beebe; Four great grandchildren, Cole, Blake, Gracelynn, and Cameron; one sister, Nelda Johnson Sexton, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Judy Ann Sharp Johnson, three brothers: Maxwell, Sherriel, and Dale, also one sister Jeanell.

A graveside service will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn, Arkansas.
