Julia Lynn Lovell

June 22, 1961 — August 28, 2025

Prattsville

Julia Lynn [Dawson] Lovell, age 64, of Prattsville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 28, 2025, following a courageous battle with non-alcohol induced cirrhosis of the liver.

Julia was born on June 22, 1961, in Long Beach, California, to Collier Lewis Dawson and Jimmy Rae [Buie] Dawson. In 1970, the family moved to Arkansas, where Julia spent her afternoons building forts from scrap wood and playing pirates in the backyard with her older brother, Jeff. Together, they shared countless adventures in their tree house, creating a bond—and a world—that was entirely their own.

A 1980 graduate of Prattsville High School, Julia married the love of her life, Gary Don Lovell, in 1981. Together they built a life full of love and purpose, raising two children, Colby and Carrie. Julia’s greatest joy in life was her family, and she poured her heart into raising her children with grace, wisdom, and unwavering support. As a military spouse, full-time mother, and homemaker, Julia served her family with dedication, sacrifice, and a depth of love that left a lasting legacy. Her guidance and nurturing spirit live on in her children and grandchildren—each a reflection of her compassion, integrity, and generosity. Julia was a proud and adoring grandmother to Cole (15), Kailyn (13), and Bella (6), who brought immense joy to her heart. She also cherished her role as an aunt and took special delight in time spent with her nieces and nephews. Julia had a deep love for the simple, beautiful things in life. She found joy in laughter, a good card game, and the art of crafting. With nimble fingers and a generous heart, she created handmade quilts, crocheted toys, and crafted gifts for those she held dear. Whether it was a blanket for a newborn or a keepsake to celebrate a marriage, Julia used her talents to wrap her family and friends in tangible expressions of her love.

She leaves behind a family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts: Gary Lovell; her children, Carrie Taylor and Colby Lovell (Kimberly); her beloved grandchildren, Tristan "Cole" Lovell, Kailyn Lovell, and Isabella "Bella" Taylor; her brother, Jeff Dawson (Michelle); and a host of nieces and nephews—Shannon, Casey, Clay, Cassie, Sonya, Heather, and Robert—as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

Julia is reunited in peace with her parents, Collier and Jimmy Rae Dawson, whose love no doubt welcomed her home to the room Jesus prepared for her.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 30th at 1pm at Harmony Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2pm, with Brothers Doney Blackerby and Ronnie Hardin officiating. Interment will be in Philadelphia Cemetery.
