Johnny Bob Jacks, age 85 of the Pansy Community, died Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born October 2, 1923 in Rison, a son of the late Randolph Jacks and Mattie Smith Pennington. Mr. Jacks was a World War II Army veteran, having served in Europe and the South Pacific. He worked in construction before his retirement, was a member of the Woodman of the World Association, and enjoyed raising cattle. Mr. Jacks was a member of Bethel Number Two Missionary Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by one brother, David Pennington; one sister, Elizabeth Green.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Louise Richardson Jacks of Pansy; two sons and daughter-in-law, Randy and Donna Jacks of Rowell, Bobby Kent Jacks of Pansy; two sisters, Louise Johns of Rye, Reba Forrest of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren and spouses, Julie and Chris Sandine, Karan and Lee Stewart, Wade and Janay Jacks, Keith Jacks; five great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 28, 2009 at Bethel Number Two Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Wade Peddy officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, September 27, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Buster Cole, Mark Young, Rusty Moore, J.W. Gavin, Chris Sandine, and Lee Stewart.
