Joan E. Usery

Joan Usery, age 84, of Searcy Arkansas passed away on Sunday, May 3rd 2026. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to the Lord, her church and her family.

Joan came from a large family of ten children whom she loved dearly, and the closeness she shared with them remained an important part of her life.

As a teenager,Joan gave her life to Jesus Christ and she was a faithful member of Valley Baptist Church.

Joan is survived by her husband, Harland; her sons, John David and his wife Cynthia, and Lonnie and his wife Linda. Joan was a proud grandmother to Heather, Sarah, Sophie, Katie, and Rachel and she was blessed with two great‑granddaughters, Ryland and Dylan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Bessie Ellis, and by her daughter‑in‑law, Stacy Usery.

Her life was one marked by love, kindness, and steady faith. Joan’s warmth, her generosity, and the memories she created with her family will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A service honoring Joan’s life will be held on May 7th at Valley Baptist Church, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her memory and the legacy she leaves.
