James Calvin Hurst

James Calvin Hurst age 73 of Rison, died, Monday, May 18, 2009 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born July 18, 1935 in Cleveland County, a son of the late Cecil Leon Hurst and Beatrice McGriff Hurst. Mr. Hurst retired from Central Maloney where he was an electrician, and was a Missionary Baptist. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Betty Hurst; two brothers, Hurschel Hurst, Miles Dub Hurst; one sister, Laverne Crook.

He is survived by two sons, Larry Hurst of Herington, Kansas, Terry Hurst of Rison; one sister, Marie Linzy of Star City; five grandchildren; one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Buie Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jim Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
