James Edward Evans

James Edward Jim E. Evans, age 72, of Poyen died Friday, October 23, 2009 at Hot Springs County Medical Center in Malvern. He was born August 02, 1937 in Brinkley, a son of the late William Alva Earl and Ora Marie Hooper Evans. Mr. Evans retired with Tim Tidwell Construction working as a truck driver. He was an avid hunter and sportsman and of the Assembly of God faith. Mr. Evans was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Evans; two sisters, Lois Dougan, and Marie Hilligoss.

He is survived by his son, James A. Evans of Taylor, Arkansas; daughter, Barbara Lynn Taylor of Poyen; brother, William Evans of Poyen; sisters, Inez Beavers of Cold Springs, Texas, Joyce Mauldin of Poyen; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Lindsey Cemetery in Poyen with Sister Ersel Hull officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2009 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan. Pallbearers are: John Clifton, Robbie Dougan, Donnie Davis, James Lucas, Dewell Lovell, and Ricky Walker. Honorary pallbearers are: David Clifton, and Hitler Wilson.
