James Robert "Sonny" Ellison, Jr.

James Robert Ellison, Jr. of Rison passed away on October 31, 2026. He was born May 2, 1964, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to James Robert Ellison, Sr. and Emma Belle Jones Ellison. He worked for Central Moloney for over 20 years. He enjoyed watching college and professional football, NASCAR, working outside, going to car shows and spending time with his dog Copper. More than anything else he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his, wife Mary Ellison, his children, Brian Ellison, Heather Ellison, Ashley Abernathy, Tyler Ellison and his wife, Brittany, Trey Ellison, his stepchildren, Sam Creighton, William Creighton, and Jonathan Creighton, eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and one great-step-grandchild. He is also survived by his parents, James Robert Ellison, Sr. and Emma Belle Jones Ellison, his sister, Wendy Ellison Harrell and his brother, Clay Ellison.
