Imogene Dunavin, 65, of Russell, Arkansas, died Friday, September 5th in her home, after a long fight with cancer. She was born July 4th, 1960, in Bradford, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hellen Stipes Dunavin and Thea O. Dunavin, a brother, Terry Wayne Dunavin, a sister, Elizabeth Dunavin Davis, and a brother-in-law, Terry Jennings. Imogene was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service and lived in Chicago for many years before retiring and moving back home to Arkansas. She enjoyed caring for her rescue dogs and cats, working in her flower beds, and hunting for unusual antiques.

She is survived by her brother, Gary Dunavin; sister, Deborah Jennings; brother-in-law, Jim Davis, sisters and brothers-in-law, Fonda and Doug Mason, Darlene and Larry Cantrell, JoAnn and Jerry Cantrell as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation was tended to by Simply Cremation Care of Kensett, Arkansas. Donations in Imogene’s name may be made to The American Cancer Society or your local Humane Society.
