George M. Todd

George Todd, age 69, of Sheridan passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at his home. Mr. Todd was born October 23, 1939 in Montrose, Arkansas, a son of the late Oliver and Blanche Jane Sledge Todd. On June 30, 1992, Mr. Todd married Wanda Basham, and worked for McGlothen Trucking Company as a truck driver where he later retired. He was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Miles; sister, Johnle Midkiff.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Todd, of the home; son, Tony Todd of Springhill, Louisiana; three step-sons, Roy Valance of Prattsville, Billy and John Miles, both of Sheridan; two brothers, Paul Todd of Mississippi, Willie Miles of Prattsville; three sisters, Ruthie Mae Haddox of Jefferson, Texas, Mary Lee of Mississippi, Betty Landry, also of Mississippi; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2009 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Sheridan with Brother Tommy Gifford officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville.
