Gene Collins

Gene Collins, age 75 of Rison, died Monday, July 27, 2009 at UAMS in Little Rock. He was born April 1, 1934 in Springfield, Illinois, a son of the late Albert Collins and Capitola Whipple Collins. Mr. Collins was self employed. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Collins; two brothers, Melvin Collins, Brownie Collins; one sister, Shirley Batchelar.

Mr. Collins is survived by one son, Jody Collins of Freeburg, Illinois; one daughter, Tammy Kapp of Centralia, Illinois; three brothers, Artie Collins of Thornton, Jerry Collins of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Francis Collins of Rison; one sister, Daisy Brown of Rison; three grandchildren: numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Buie Funeral Home Chapel in Rison with Brother C. E. Van Ness officiating. Burial will follow in the Moores Church Cemetery. Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 31, 2009 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870)325-6216.
