Elmo Donald (Don) Crow of Searcy went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2025. He was born March 28, 1934, in McRae, Arkansas. Raised in Cotton Plant, Arkansas, Don was the son of Plaze P. (Jake) and Della Crow. After graduating Cotton Plant High School, Don proudly served his country as a soldier in the U.S. Army.
Don was a lifetime Methodist and, in 1955, was saved and directed by his savior to become a lay speaker, having delivered over 2,500 messages to churches of all faiths during his lifetime. He served as Bible Study leader, Sunday School teacher, as well as a board member for the Kensett United Methodist Church.
A retired senior officer of First Security Bank in Searcy, he was active in the community through service in the Optimist Club, Lions Club, Kensett City Council, Kensett and Riverview Schools support groups, and as an auxiliary volunteer of Unity Health Medical Center.
Don was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Mildred, his parents, brothers Aron Crow and Plaze O. Crow, sisters Dorothy Moosman and Doris Lacefield. He is survived by daughters Avis (Greg) McKenney of Illinois, R’cell (Britton) Kerr of Sherwood, and son Fred (Alicia) Crow of Conway. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, April (Tim) Brown, Elwyn McKenney, Dakota, Elizabeth, and Landry Kerr, and Jackson and Maggie Crow. As well as four great grandchildren, Dylan Gill, Gwen Gill, Kayden Brown and Gracyn Brown.
Visitation for Mr. Crow will be on Saturday, August 30th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with service at 11:00 a.m. at Kensett United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Kensett Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kensett United Methodist Church.
