Searcy

Eddie Rudolph Tims, known to all who loved him as Rudy, passed away peacefully at his home in Searcy, Arkansas on January 16, 2026, at the age of 92.

Rudy was born in Weldon, Arkansas, and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 21 years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. After his military service, he continued to serve his community as an instructor at a local vocational school, sharing his skills and knowledge with multiple generations.

A man of deep Christian faith, Rudy was a beloved and devoted member of the Searcy community. It seemed he knew everyone in town, and a simple trip out was never complete without running into friends and neighbors who knew and loved him. He and his wife Eloise opened their hearts and home to many foster children over the years, providing a safe and loving refuge when they needed it most. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—working with his hands, tending his garden, and casting a line while fishing. His greatest joy, however, was time spent with his children and grandchildren, especially those cherished fishing trips with his grandkids by his side.

Rudy is survived by his wife, Shirley Tims; his children Eddie (Becky) and Pamela Clark (Ray); his grandchildren Bruce (Melissa), Rebekah Mattes (Peter), Jennifer Roth (Alex), and Valerie Landes (Josh); seven great-grandchildren, Brandon (Tristan), Madeline (Adam), Avery, Abby, Isaiah, Elijah, and Weston; and one great-great-grandchild, Bennett, along with many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Rudy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years and mother to their children, Eloise (Covington) Tims; his parents; his sons Donnie Tims and Bruce Tims; and his grandchildren Donnie Tims II and Michelle Tims.

Rudy's legacy of faith, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
