Christine Coble

Christine (Totty) Coble, 88, of Searcy, passed from this life on May 18, 2025. She was born April 29, 1937, in Memphis, TN, the oldest child of D.A. and Ida Bell Totty. She was married 61 years to her husband Ronald Coble, who preceded her in death in 2018. She attended Southside High School in Memphis and Harding College. She worked in library and secretarial positions in schools in Indianapolis, IN and Richmond, VA.

Chris was a member of the Downtown Church of Christ. She enjoyed American history, traveling, and visiting with friends and family. God blessed her with gifts of a curious mind, thoughtful friendship, and the ministry of hospitality.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Douglas Totty, and sister, Carolyn Austin. She is survived by her brother Bud Totty, daughters, Julie Vandagriff (Loyd), Lori Panetierri, Leah Lackie, and grandchildren Alan Vandagriff (Kaitlin), Susan Vandagriff, Daniel Lackie, Caleb Lackie, Clara Baker (Brett), and Calvin Lackie, and two great-grandchildren on the way.

The family is very grateful for the devoted friends, church family, and health care professionals that performed so many acts of kindness for her over the years. There will be no service, per her request. Memorials may be made to Mission Machine, Searcy AR or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memphis TN.
