Charles Edward White (Charlie Jenkins), 72, of Pangburn, Arkansas passed away Friday, June 24, 2022, at the Veteran’s Hospital in Little Rock.
He was born May 11, 1950, to James Clarence White and Rosie Mae Howell White in Searcy. As an infant, he was “adopted” (taken under wing) by his mother’s next husband, Frank Jenkins.
Charles served his country during the Vietnam Era and the Cold War as an U.S. Army Infantryman stationed in Germany. After his service, he worked farming, construction, and as a self-employed as a roofer and lawn care.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Danny Jenkins and Tommy Jenkins; one sister, Betty Sue Jenkins Bush and her baby, Lester Bush, Jr.
He is survived by two children, Denise LaPointe and Christopher White (Mandy); six grandchildren, Jay, Brandi, Janie, Alek, Landon, Declan; and six great-grandchildren, Buck, Lane, Nellie, Jailee, Britton, and Kovin.
Also surviving are three sisters, Linda Kay Hicks ( Bill), Rosemary Crouch, Jo Ann Holliman; one brother, Franklin Jenkins; two great aunts, Clara Moore (James) , Opal Howell, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 at Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn.
