Carter Roland Jaggars

Carter R. Jaggers, age 79 of Houston, Texas, formerly of Rison, died Sunday, December 21, 2008. He was born September 16, 1929 in Rison, a son of the late James Horace and Mary Anna Parker Jaggars. Mr. Jaggers retired from the United States Air Force and later worked for Kingsland Schools in maintenance. He was a member of Rison Baptist Church and a Mason. Mr. Jaggers was also preceded in death by two brothers, Willie and James Horace Jaggars, Jr.; son, Michael Lee Jaggers; grandson, Joshua Nathan Jaggers.

Mr. Jaggers is survived by his wife, Ethel Lorene Jaggers of Houston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Bruce DeVille of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 26, 2008 at Rison Baptist Church with Brother Wade Totty officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to service at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the directions of Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
