Bruce Wayne Rice, age 79 of White Hall, passed away, Thursday, June 22, 2023. He was born on July 31, 1943 in Jefferson County to the late Velma and Charlie Joe Rice. He was a 1961 graduate of White Hall High School. After graduation, Bruce joined the United States Air Force, where he was an Airborne Radar Technician and served his county proudly for four years. He attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. Bruce retired from the N.C.T.R. after 40 years of government service. He was an active member of Family Church in White Hall for many years and served as an usher. In his spare time, Bruce enjoyed working on computers, watching the Arkansas Razorbacks and spending time with his children and grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Grumps”. Mr. Rice was preceded in death by his parents, Velma Rice Brown and Charlie Joe Rice; brother, C. J. Rice; sisters, Claudetta Musgrove and Wanda Wessels.
Mr. Rice is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Gina Reed Rice; son, Steven (Jennifer) Rice; daughters, Amy (Sondra) Rice, Mandy (Jay) Taylor; six grandchildren, Blake and Ethan Rice, Caroline and John Steven McGahhey, Lottie and Reed Dice.
Graveside services will be Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., at Greenwood Cemetery in Rison. Memorials may be made to Oakland Heights Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 9620 Highway 270, White Hall, Arkansas 71602.
