Bonnie Jean Sunday

February 5, 1948 — January 1, 2026

Bonnie Jean Sunday (Ford), age 77, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026. She was born on February 25, 1948 in Brownwood Texas.

Bonnie devoted many years of her life to caring for others as a nurse, a role she embraced with compassion, patience, and genuine love for her patients. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her profession and was felt deeply by all who knew her.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all else. Bonnie is survived by her children, Shawn Massey and his wife Jennifer, and Kimberly Grundy and her husband Warren Grundy. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Austin Grundy and his wife Kelsie, Hanna Kuciejski, Jakob Krickbaum, and Taylor Funk, as well as her treasured great-grandchildren, Bentley, Elaina, Auggie, and Tuli, who brought her immense joy.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Arthur Ford and Lenzo (Rosenau), her sister Gail Bonser, and her brother Ronnie Ford.

Outside of her work and family, Bonnie found happiness in the simple beauty of life. She loved her pets dearly and enjoyed fishing, hunting, painting, and photography. A creative soul, she proudly wrote and published a children’s book titled “Sparkles, Dragons, and Dragonfly Land,” a reflection of her imagination and gentle heart.

A private service will be held for close family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bonnie’s memory to a charity of your choice.

Bonnie will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, devotion to others, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Her legacy of love and care will continue through the generations she leaves behind.
