Billy Idus Vinson

Billy Idus Vinson, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 24, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on April 13, 1942, Billy lived a life filled with passion and dedication, particularly as a retired mechanic, a profession that reflected his lifelong love for working on cars and building racecars.

He cherished his time with his beloved wife, Judy Vinson, and his children: Wayne Vinson (Jenny), Angela Vinson, along with his grandchildren who brought him immense joy: Brooke McCann (Robert), Lauren Farmer (Leland), Zach Vinson (Chelsea), Brandon Norrell (Nicole), Robert Curtis (Alexandria), Nicholas Curtis (Brandie), and Alicia Burton (Michael). He was also the proud grandfather of great-grandchildren Natalie, Cade, Raine, Zack, and eight bonus great-grandchildren, reveling in the happiness that each new generation brought to his life. Additionally, he took great delight in the numerous nieces and nephews who filled his life with love and laughter.

Billy is preceded in death by his father Idus Vinson, mother Lillian Vinson, brothers Harold, Bob, and Jimmy Tooke Vinson, and sisters Doris Ann Richie and Juanice Stewart. Their memories will always remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Billy’s life during the visitation and funeral service, which will take place on February 7, 2026, at Buie Funeral Home in Rison, Arkansas. The visitation will occur from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed immediately by the funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
