Berniece Reed

Berniece Reed age 69 of the Woodlawn Community, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at her home. She was born May 2, 1939 in the Macedonia Community, a daughter of the late Hoody and Ola Mae Puckett Herrington. Mrs. Reed was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, a homemaker and a farmer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Daniel Reed; two brothers, Lee Herrington and Bill Herrington.

Mrs. Reed is survived by two sons, Howard Paul Reed and John Harvey Reed of Woodlawn; two daughters, Deborah Lynn Burnett of Canton, Michigan and Catherine Plunkett of Flintville, Tennessee; five brothers George Herrington, John Herrington, Hardy Herrington all of Rison, Tom Herrington of Vacherie, Louisiana, and Fred Herrington of Sheridan; five sisters Ruth Reed, Donie Mull of Rison, Ethel Golden, Cescel Luker of North Little Rock and Ola Hayes of Monticello; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Friendship Cemetery in Woodlawn with James Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2008. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
