Barbara Romine

Barbara Kaye Rompon Romine, 83, of Rison went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 22, 2025, at the Greenhouse Cottages of Southern Hills of Rison. 

She was born March 22, 1942, to Effie Thompson in Mena Arkansas. They moved to Hope where she graduated from Hope High School in 1960. Her education was one year at South Arkansas University then Texarkana College where she earned her LVN degree. She worked her entire career as a nurse. She retired from the Green House Cottages of Southern Hills in 2016. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Herman Romine Jr, a sister, Sue Haron Hanks, half-sister, Mae Dell Holiday, and a step-daughter Pam Romine. She is survived by two children, son, Greg Jenkins (Amy) of Rison, and a daughter, Karyn Jenkins (George) also of Rison. They were the children from her first husband, Van Felkins who preceded them in death. 

She is also survived by Teresa Romine. She also has four grandsons, Kyle, Justin, and Dillian Felkins of Crossett, and Cole Hicks, of Missouri, six great grandchildren. 

Barbara wishes were to be cremated and no services at this time.
