Arthur Bertany, a beloved figure in his community, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, at the age of 100. Born on August 17, 1925, Arthur was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

A proud veteran of World War II, Arthur served his country with honor, an experience that shaped his character and fostered a deep sense of camaraderie. He retired from IL Bell, where he dedicated many years of his life, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike. Always one to value relationships, Arthur's personality was marked by his ability to connect with others—he truly never met a stranger.

Arthur's joyful spirit extended beyond his professional life. He had a passion for exploring the simpler pleasures in life, often found enjoying breakfast with friends or on the golf course, where he was an avid golfer. His love for fishing also brought him great joy, providing peaceful moments by the water.

Known for his genuine warmth and infectious smile, those who had the privilege of knowing Arthur often remarked, “to know him was to love him.” His legacy will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Arthur is survived by his loving children, Kathy Ferricher and Lin Allen (Jim); his treasured grandchildren, AJ (Sam), Lindsey (Bill), Brett (Jess), and Sean (Stephanie); and 9 great grandchildren, as well as his sister-in-law, Patty Pazy. He rejoins his late wife, Gwen Bertany, and his parents, along with his brothers, Rich, Ed, Don, Bill, and George Bertany, his sister, Leone Annel, and his son in law, Al Ferricher.

As we remember Arthur Bertany, let us celebrate a life well-lived, filled with laughter, love, and an unwavering commitment to those around him. His spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
