Alvin Myers

Alvin Myers, age 73 of Fordyce, died, Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Dallas County Medical Center. He was born September 12, 1937, in Rison, a son of the late Gilbert Smith Myers and Nora Ryals Myers. Mr. Myers served in the United States Navy. He retired from Central Moloney and was a Baptist.

Mr. Myers is survived by his wife, Frances Pearcy Myers of Fordyce; one son, Gerald Johnson of Plano, Texas; two brothers, Walter Myers of Round Top, Texas, Richard Myers of Fordyce; three sisters, Mary Marie Stevens and Linda Jenkins, both of Pine Bluff, Martha Jenkins of White Hall.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a .m. Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Buie Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bellwood Annex Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Buie Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
